Himalaya no Uta

This website is devoted to a passion of mine which is photography coupled with another passion which I have been pursuing for the last 20 years that of travel and for this reason you will come across a lot of interesting images throughout this website from various countries of the world, many of which happen to be from Asia. I have visited and spent a lot of time in many countries of the world but the area that fascinates me the most is that of Asia.
The variety in culture, traditions, peoples, language and customs along with the natural environment is overwhelming. I have travelled using many forms of transport "for better or for worse" but my favourite given the time and good health is cycling. I have cycled through many regions for many months over the years getting up close and personal to asia's vast changing landscapes and the beautiful and friendly peoples that inhabit her.

I took up film photography years ago but have had great results and much more fun after crossing over to the digital format back in 2005. Photography for me is a way of expressing facets of the changing world around us wether it be through the peoples, religion, nature or landscape. I like to capture that which is rapidly leaving this developing world of ours, the old ways of life and traditions, dress and heritage from countries far different from already developed nations. I like to capture the poetic beauty of a flower, the minutae of an insect and the breathtaking landscapes that they dwell upon.
