Enkianthus campanulatus

Beautifully coloured leaves and pendulous bell shaped flowers of the Japanese shrub, Enkianthus campanulatus in Togakushi, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Enkianthus is a deciduous shrub and a genus of shrubs or small trees in the Heath family. It is found growing from the eastern Himalayas through China to Japan and is popular with temperate gardeners becuase it is extremely ornamental plant.
