Vietnam is criss-crossed with rivers and streams, tributaries and delta's along with the coastline of the South China Sea. Fish and shellfish therefore are found in abundance and one can find a wide variety of fresh fish or alternatively, dried fish which is an excellent traditional method of preserving them. Local markets wether on the coast or inland stock a fresh selection on a daily basis and it can be a fascinating experience to wander around these places to see what wonderful aquatic species are on offer. |
