Floating Houses

Cat Ba Island is located within the world famous and extremely picturesque Halong Bay of North Vietnam a Unesco World Heritage Site.
Half of this scenic island is covered by a National Park and within Cat Ba bay one can take a boat trip to the very interesting and quite unique floating village to view quaint wooden houses and traditional Vietnamese fishing boats. It is from this floating village that local boatmen and women make their living through fishing and ferrying residents in their small boats to and from the island with goods that are being bought or sold in the market along with taking visitors on small boating tours around the bay to such places as caves in the limestone outcrops.
