The White Tai are also known as Tai Kao and are just one group of the many different hilltribes that mainly reside in picturesque and rural mountainous villages in the north west of the country. They originate and migrated from China to Laos and Vietnam several centuries ago.
This lady is actually carrying a baby on her back the traditional tribal way, the baby can't actually be seen but the straps running along her chest are part of the child carrying apparatus. |
