Overgrown Buddha Head

Ancient buddha head lodged firmly in the roots of the all encompassing Banyan tree otherwise known botanically as Ficus religiosa. This species of Fig tree is the one Buddha sat meditating beneath when he attained enlightenment. This statuesque buddha head at Ayuthaya in Thailand has been in this position for centuries, nobody knows for sure exactly how long it has been locked within.
