Buddhist Temple Monkey

An odd looking monkey to worship. This particular one is at the ancient Buddhist Golden Temple in the city of Patan, Kathmandu Valley, Nepal.
The Golden Temple is a Buddhist Temple located north of Patan's Durbar Square. It contains many interesting golden effigies like the one in this image and also has praying quarters in the small monastery upstairs for the buddhist monks. It is also known as Hiranya Varna and believed to have been founded around the 12th century although the earliest record of its existance is 1409.
