Hypholoma sublateritium

Popular wild edible Japanese woodland mushroom that grows in the fall, Kuri-take, English translation is Chestnut Mushroom also known as the Brickcap (Hypholoma sublateritium), seen here growing in the autumnal forests of Togakushi, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
In Europe this mushroom is often considered inedible or even poisonous, but in the USA and Japan it is a popular edible fungus. Eaten in small quantities it is a tasty and abundant wild fungi in the autumn season.
