Indian rupees are sub-divided into 100 paise but as the country becomes more wealthy these are rapidly becoming out dated and mush less used,as with one rupee notes. The silver coin is becoming ever more popular.
In the old days it was amazing what one could buy with one rupee, nowadays you can't even get your shoes shined for that! |
