Military ordnance decorating a laotian family's garden in Southern Laos.
Laos has the distinction of being the most heavily bombed nation during the period of the Vietnam war. Hence it is quite common to see spent artillery and mortar shells and the likes on local peoples land.
Unfortunately unlike these pieces there is also a large amount of UXOs or Unexploded Ordnance which continues to pose a deadly threat to many laotians involved in agriculture and children who are attracted to the toylike devices. |
