Young Laotian girl on the Island of Don Khon in Si Phan Don area of Southern Laos. Don Khon is a small and very beautiful island in the Mekong River neighbouring the very popular (with backpackers), Don Dhet.
Don Khon is the bigger of the two islands and offers a much more authentic Laos feel as it tends to be skipped by a lot of the backpackers hence offering a more relaxed, peaceful and unique stay for the visitor. It's also a great place for walking and cycling with bicycle hire available and on one side of the island visitors can see the rare Mekong River Dolphins by taking a boat trip down river towards the Cambodian border. |
