Varanasi is one of India's holiest cities and on a whole the legendary bathing ghats are where all the action is to be found, temple worship, bathing in the Ganges river, cremation, boat building, washing of laundry etc but hidden amongst the back streets are an intricate number of interesting things one may happen across from water buffalo sauntering through the tight alleyways, small indian tea stalls and markets to restaurants and guesthouses all packed into the crumbling ancient city walls.
