Kedarnath Himalayan Peak

This is Kedarnath Peak as seen from Auli in Garhwal part of Uttaranchal in the Indian Himalaya. At 6,940m it is the highest peak on the south side of the Gangotri Glacier which is the source of the holy River Ganga.
Kedarnath itself is also highly revered in the Hindu religion and receives a huge amount of pilgrims to the temple at its base at 3,581m during the summer months up until November when access becomes nigh on impossible due to heavy snowfall.
